I believe the recommended method is spraying some carburetor cleaner in there, letting it sit for just a bit, then rinsing it out and letting it dry. Anyone else?

I don't know that I'd rinse it since water + electric parts = bad juju. The cleaner will mostly evaporate off.

my opinion on this part is replace it and its gasket. there have been reports of mixed results from cleaning, why go thru all those steps and learn that you still have a problem? with replacement, you're up & running in no time. just be very careful when tightening those two bolts, they can snap easily.

I agree that cleaning doesn't always work (happened to me) but I would still give it a shot, as a replacement is around $60. The labor is minimal just to pull of the IAC and clean it, so its not like you're spending hours for nothing. In my case cleaning improved things for a month or so, but eventually the issues came back.

I agree that cleaning is worth a shot. Did mine & have had NO problems for months now.

A can of TB cleaner, spray it out really good. When you think you've done enough, do it all over again - then let it dry.

Once that is done, I used some spay silicone lube - and let it dry in the Florida sun for a while. Drying is an important step here as some have reported that silicone can ruin O2 sensors. I didn't know that at the time, I just got lucky.

Re-assemble & go.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
