I searched and never really got a definite answer on this. I want to install indiglo gauges and I found a 98 cluster that already had some installed. Will it work on my 95?

Most likily: No, because the 95 Ford Contour uses a cable drivin Speedometer, 98+ im sure uses the electronic signal

I seen where someone hooked up a 96 cluster on a 95. What's the difference between a 98 and 96? They looke the same to me.

they are actually a lot different, to the untrained eye, a lot of the lights are in different positions, the wiring is less complicated on the newer gauges, and only a thousand or so 95 contours/mystiques had cable, open your gauges up, by doing a few simple tasks. If you already have a new set uninstalling the gauges is quite simple. look for a manufactering date on the back, if its from January 1995 on, you don't have cable, (you should also see it if you do) if its before jan 95, you probably got cable. And no one try to chime in, the first tours were made before 95.

If your tenth's marker on the odometer is in yellow. You have a cable driven speedo. As for the mixing of the 2 guages. I'm not sure if they will work but one of the main differences I have seen and I'm not sure what year it starts is. There is a Foglight indicator on the Dash. I'm pretty sure it started after 98. Otherwise it is on a trim peice of the dash in the pre 98's. Hope this helps some.

So all I do is match the plugs up and it will work just fine? By the way mine does have a cable.

Really? Well my bad then. Every one I have seen in the wrecking yard with yellow tenths has been cable and visa versa. Either way ignore what I said to be fact as I am misguided.
