i know that some of you guys have done the hightower mod yourself and i'm just curious how you got the lens off the headlight in order to paint. It seems like its glued together with the black backing with rubber cement. I'm just not sure how to get this off.

Become one with your dremel. the stuff holding em on is way tougher than rubber cement.

Yes and it takes forever to cut it apart......that is if you want it look half way decent when your done. Also make sure you have plenty of cutting disks. I dont know how many I went through when I cut mine.

There are three ways to do things: the right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power way!
Isn't that just the wrong way?
Yeah, but faster!

I used one when cutting mine.
I have used one cutting disk on about 10 sets of headlights. It finally gave out when I tried cutting some steel.
Just remember kids; don't try to bake it!

I'd go to the junk yard and pick up a cheap set of lights to try this on. I've read one too many "I painted my headlights and they look like crap" posts.

Don't forget this one when doing this mod..."they leak and I sealed them up real good!" The condensation will vary, but you'll get it, one way or the other and yes, it does go away
