I am looking for a 12V source for my Diamond Rio Volt MP3 player. I dont want to use batteries or the cig liter. I want everything behind the scenes, since the MP3 player is in the glove box. PLus if it could be switched, that would be great, or would i have to go through the firewall to get one of these wires? I have an adjusted CIG LITER adapter so i can convert the 12V to the needed 4.5V, which has a fuse as well. Any help will be appreciated :p

Nothing here yet, just got my 1998.5 Black SE ATX

Under the steering wheel in the big thick harness there is a little bit bigger solid dark green wire that is 12 v at switch (have no clue where it goes but it has 12 volts :D) if you want constant at all times there is also a solid red wire under there. (dont know where it goes either :D) or maybe its the other way around. Just pull the plate under the steering wheel and take a volt meter to it. Im sure on the colors.

One easy way to get 12v is to Just take the pos wire and wrap it around a fuse and ground the neg wire. If you want the player to only be on with the car wrap it around the fuse for the radio. If you want it be on constantly put it on the cig lighter fuse.
