I am ordering a cabin filter from autzone.com, since that seems to be best deal on those. I figure I might as well get a few other things I need since shipping will not be much more. I am ordering an air filter and the site suggests also getting "breather filter".

What and where is breather filter on zetec? Is this as easy to change as the regular air filter?

Breather Filter part they list is Deutsch BF104.

Are you talking about the crank case breather? If so then its on the top right corner of valve cover. Hope this helps. Its the Big black hose thing. wink

I think it must be crankcase ventilation filter...is that what you were refering to. I got the bright idea (duh) of looking in the owners manual. That is listed as a filter on the zetec, but not on duratec...and I had read somewhere that zetec has breather filter and duratec does not. I am guessing it must be a filter for pcv valve.

Its not that sealed rectangular black plastic box that is ducted to air intake?...not the one with the regular air filter but the other one that appears to not be openable.

I'm gonna search on crankcase vent filter now.

Found it. It is inside the box that the regular air filter is in. Where the hose from PCV comes in there is a little foam filter under a small plastic cover. I ended up just cleaning it with some solvent and putting it back in place.
