DEI, Cadence, and Alumapro these are three brands of car audio that I use currently. I never seem to hear them mentioned here. I wish someone else would buy them, so I would'nt feel so odd. Good stuff, anyone's opionion differ from mine. Love to debate on the best out there, of course I'm not talking about ultra high end (Rainbow etc.)

All three companies you mentioned are very good. No debating that. I don't think you should feel odd! At least not for the audio equipment you use. Unfortunately, IMO, most car audio mfg charge way too much money for what you get. In some cases you are stuck with paying the price (HUs, EQs, Amps) but in the case of speakers, you can do much better by buying the components and rolling your own crossovers, even if they are just text book crossovers.

How much do the rainbow speakers cost? Just curious because they use Seas Excel drivers that I can buy woofers/tweeters and make the crossovers for about 500.00 (this is the most expensive version of the rainbows.
The lower cost components could be made for around 200.00 or less.

Wow Rainbow's I didn't think anyone else has ever seen or heard of them, thought I might have been the loner. Rainbow was/is similar to MB Quart, but without the Titanium tweeters, sound great (the high end line) They had 3 different lines, the high end would have been around the 500-600 range (like MB's Q line) the low level would range under $150 for a component set. I worked for the first Importer of Rainbow back in the late 80's, early 90's ( actually I started as they were phasing Rainbow out) They made nice stuff though, Buddy of mine still has them in his Porsche. He has the sub under the hood ported into the car, WOW Bass up front is so sweet.

I think I heard someone say 5 grand for the Rainbows on another forum, but that sounds crazy.

Rainbows Reference line HAS to be more than 500.00-600. I think the Contour line is 500-600 and their reference line uses drivers that cost close to 4 times as much. If I had to guess, I'd say they probably are upwards of $2k with the typical car audio markup.

Same amp I have, use it for the Alchemies, and push my DEI 5.25 comps with a Directed 250 2-channel, run the rear Pioneer 6x8s off the HU. I use a Kenwood HU & EQ, Audiobahn 1F cap(not needed really) Python alarm also owned by DEI.
