I just installed a Sony head unit and ran into a minor snag... there is no dark blue (antenna power) wire. There is an "Amplifier Turn On Switch" (blue/white) wire - which is a good thing... In the directions for the wiring adapter kit it says if you have no amplifier wire you can use the antenna wire to trigger it... so my question is can I splice the Antenna wire(blue) into the Amplifier Turn On wire(blue/white) from my head unit and get the right result (antenna going up when the stereo is on)??

Seems to me that it should work out just fine - but I wanted to run it by the experts...

some new HU's are only giving amp turn on wires. very stupid but power antennaes are becoming rarer nowadays. The voltage for the amp turn on wire and the power antenna are usually different but i have heard of hooking up the power antenna directly to the battery so you should be ok with just hooking up the amp turn on lead to the power antenna
