Hello all. The sound from my front speakers, which are driven by an amplifier separate from my CD player, fades in and out and sometimes is only half as loud or as quarter as loud as it should be. This variation in sound occurs during all driving conditions, but I notice signifcant changes when traveling over bumpy roads or when hitting a bump. Sometimes the sound cuts out altogether for a minute or two at a time then mysteriously reappears. My amp ground wire is screwed into the bottom of the trunk, underneath the gray carpet. My question: Could a poor ground connection cause these symptoms?

Thanks MxRacerCam. I really appreciate the quick response. I've got a mighty long commute everyday, and I'm going nuts without my tunes. Looks like it's time to pull my ride into the garage and see what's what with that ground wire. Maybe I'll place it somewhere else altogether. Thanks again.

np. it may not be the only reason that it could be doing that, but it's quite likely that it is. wiring is always the first place to look in these situations!
