Hey yall!! I am looking for a little bit of input and help on a problem I am having with my 98 SVT. I recently bought me a cold air intake kit that I got off of EBAY. It is the one that the SHO Shop sells. Comes with the heat shield and all that. The problem I am having is when I get going down the road and let off the gas the engine starts to howl. It isn't messing with the performance of the car but it is really damn annoying. I didn't replace the intake pipe that goes from the MAF to the intake itself. Is that the problem? Any help would be great. Thanks

I think Pete nailed your problem. I believe it can happen with all intakes, not just the SHO Shop one. I havent had it happen to me yet [knocks on wood]. . . .

I have moosing on my SVT with a standard K&N. Ironically, I have the SHO Shop intake on my Sport, and it doesn't moose. That car has its own unique issues, however

Sounds like the Moose is on the Loose. Try the T/H Fix it worked for me.

hey i have the same problem. . . and i do have the sho-shop intake(crap!) i think think it might be the throttle body that is cracked to whistle, and the filter is a high flow so it sucks more air in faster.
thats my guess but i am getting a new mass air soon i will look in to it when i install it

Are you getting a Pro-flow MAF ?,
bickett34-Just replace your IAC,
mine went @ 56,k.
the intake would not affect the idle, unless there was a leak from behind the maf sensor and you were getting un-meeterd air into the engine.
