I've recently run into a problem and need some advice on my HVAC. A few weeks ago I noticed that sometimes nothing would happen when I'd put on the vent, A/C, etc. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Other times when I had the vent, defogger, etc. on, it wouldn't work initially but if I left it on for long enough I might get some air after 10 mins or so. And at times if I went over a bump, the damn thing would start to work. Then a few days ago, everything HVAC related stopped worked (except the rear defogger obviously) - that is to say that nothing goes on. Initially I thought that perhaps this was due to a faulty switch, but when I turn on the A/C, I can still hear the compressor go on, but nothing comes out.
Since I'm not any kind of an expert at these types of things, I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what's wrong? I would assume that some sort of fan or something is broken. However, I don't even know where it would be located, how much it would cost to fix by myself or professionally, etc?
Anyone have any insight into this? Any advice would be appreciated.
