My car makes a Verrrr werrrr werrrr noise.. high pitched, humming buzzing, like a super charger.. not enless aliens installed 1 in the middle of the night.. I dunno what happened..

and a

kerrr RRrrr rrrrRrrrRRRrr rRRRrr - kinda like a wheel bearing, but not a wheel bearing, I suppose. At the same time..

The Kerr is constant with speed..

And the Verr werrr werrr is constant with engine rev..
Yeah. It still drives though. Just dosent sound real happy..

96 GL ATX(CD4E)

I flushed fluid and overfilled a little.. oppz.. would that make it verr werr werr?

The sounds are obnoxious.. and when the car gets warm.. It likes to take it sweet time shifiting into gears..

I looked up Verrrr werrrr werrrr and kerrr RRrrr rrrrRrrrRRRrr rRRRrr on my Ford Service CD and couldn't find anything.

Maybe those aliens are living in your transmission.

Thats funny!

Well, I know that the pump in the CD4E is prone to making a high pitched sound if it is greatly worn. That would be the "Verrrr werrrr werrrr". And if it is making that noise as you describe it, that the other noise is most likely your differential and other drive line components not being lubed properly (running almost dry). That would be the "kerrr RRrrr rrrrRrrrRRRrr rRRRrr".

Shew! I need a cold one after that!

LoL.. soo.. if I changed the tranny pump.. would it fix it?
Or is there critical damage?

Im thinking critical damage.. it sounds like rocks in a coffee grinder with a miniture turbine..

When you combine them.. its like a Verrrrkerrr werrRRRrRRr rrRrr werrrRrr Rrrr. Like that female of Kung Pow. "oyi-e yoi-e yoi-e" anyoing strange sound.

Yeah its broke. Ill just face the fact. If i cahnged the fluid / pump, if possible without pulling the tranny.. would that fix it? Or is the torque converter so full of debree by now that its just fux0r3d...

reminds me of the bob and tom "Mr. Obvious" episode where a guy thought a critter was stuck underneath his sink because he didnt know what a garbage disposal was. "It sounds like arrrrr, arrrr, arrrr!"

Could be the idler bearing, tensioner bearing, etc. Can you pinpoint from what side of the engine it is coming from. Does it only happen in gear or is the sound there when you are in neutral and rev the engine.
