Sorry if this is in the wrong section, as i couldn't decide where to put it.

I am in need of a 5spd tranny for a 1995 SE tour, with a 99 motor in it. will a 99 tranny fit? if so does anyone have any links? i'm searching ebay but my connection is acting up. either way, i was also wondering if anyone has done this and has any tips? the weekend after i purchase the tranny im hoping for transplant.

are there any specific tools i should have ready? or manuals? anything i can get away with cheaply (in regards to pulling it out and putting the new one in, lifts, etc) lemme know. Thanx!!

A 99 trans will fit, but you do realize that your swapping from a rod shift trans to a cable shift so the linkage, tower, etc all needs to be swapped as well.

be prepaired, when putting in a manual transmission, on 95s they hooked up different then on 96 and higher. I have a shifer column on y 99, the 95 that I pulled the entire center console out, didn't they had a plug that went through the floor, and then everything ran from there under the car to the transmission. Not sure if that really matters. But its something to think about. You should stop by a junk yard and check it out. Hope the swap all goes well.

it is already a standard transmission that is in it. Would i be better off going with a rebuilt 95 tranny? in terms of ease of installation?
