I've not had a major amount of time to work on my vehicle (away @ school) and am unfarmiliar with how to install a new intake that I just bought. If anyone has a guide/how to on this subject please let me know, or, if you know how to install one, please let me know. I really need the help. I should also mention that the kit was sold to me as a "direct bolt-on" so all I was sent was the filter and an adapter.

well do what intake do you have? thats a start...
I'm not really good at directions though...I just kinda ripped off the stock intake and then connected the new one. It was pretty straight forward to me...

Well here's the thing, this is a no-name intake, I got it for $30 on eBay and all I got was actual cone intake and a "bolt on" adapter. The eBay user is procarparts.com so I checked the website and found the intake listed under "universal" [this is the their page, the intake here is not the exact one that I ordered but it's close( http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=NSXXUN%2D6395FA7&dbname=onlinestoreDB )] what you see in that picture is what I got, 3 pieces, no pipes, etc. And right now I'm startin to feel like I'm gonna need those pipes, right?

then technically you didn't get an intake at all. All you got is an open element air filter. Unclamp the stock airbox from the MAF, rip it out, and slide the filter over the maf as good as you can. Not a very good setup at all, but it's a start.

Ok, thanks! And I'm assuming that the MAF is the electronics package that's on the intake, correct?
