Well, if anyone can't tell I like to drive. Alot. Especially in my Rockies. So Dragonfly (Mario) and I drove up Mt. Evans today, which is our highest fourteener, and the highest road in the US. Our next CEG meet, Rockies Run, will be on the highest continuous road in the US, since this one just dead ends at the summit and returns back. Heres a few shots we took at Summit Lake, about 1,400 feet below the summit of Evans, since it was too windy/rough/snow covered to drive all the way up this early in the season.

A nice shot of the summit, and the frozen over summit lake in the bottom.

This one is a huge sheer rock face. We had to walk about 100 yards from the car to get to this pic, there's a huge valley below us. The wind up here was so crazy, and Mario and I came prepared with T-shirts and jeans! Luckily he had a spare jacket and a hoodie in his car. With wind chill it was about -13, and these pictures were intensely hard to take, since the wind was literally causing us to stand diagonally to stay stable. When we jumped straight up, it took us about 2 feet in the winds direction, and I almost lost a hat on the lake due to these winds! but it was so fun, can't wait to get to the summit later in the season!

Dragonfly's car infront of Summit Lake. Sexay!

Li'l ice wall on the drive up to Summit lake that we had to get a few pics of! Gotta love snow drifts!

A creature we saw driving back down, beaver perhaps?
This little guy was one of 4 that we saw driving down, one which I got a pic about 10 ft away, and another about .5 to 1 ft away, but that one is just his body since he was walking right next to us and past the car. AMAZING!! Good ol' mountain goats!
Well, whadya guys think?? Not too bad for just a little Memorial Day cruise!
And as always, there's plenty more shots that are 1600 x 1200 and have tons of pixels, so Email me if you want any, I tried to post a good variety of the day here! We also got to see some cool cars like those new Scions, an Audi RS6 sedan, and a 68 Camaro SS.
