This is my first post, but I had to inform everyone of an important issue. I just put 18 x 7.5 Rims on my car with 225/40ZR rubber. My Car has the Eibach springs dropping it about 1.25". Right after I left the shop I noticed some serious rubbing. Through trial and error and alot of duct tape on the inner fenders the trouble spots were the lip of the inner fender where the Bumper joins the Fender. This piece sticks out about half an inch which was just enough to rub the tire. The major problem with that was that the metal piece is sharp and with two of your buddies in the back and a bump, big enough to spill your bevrages, this eventually will puncture your tire. If you have rubbing issues with your Phat tires put a piece of tape over this area and go for a ride, if this is the cause of the problem fix it. I took some tin snips and a file to cut and shave down this lip. Now I have no rubbing and I can drive around and pick up all the fat girls I want. Yippee!!

what offset are you running on those 18's out of curiosity? Because that could very well affect the amount of rubbing. . .with a rim that big, I would venture to say that 40-42mm would be safe as long as the profile of the tire is low. . .of course having Eibach springs doesn't ever help. . .

I've got the exact same size rim with a 42 offset and I rub with stock suspension...I can't imagine how bad it would be with a drop...Ouch.
