Does anyone know what the differences are between the I4 and the V6 Manual Transmissions? I need to use an I4 manual with a V6 engine that I have so I need to know if it will work. If there is another thread similar to this, please point me in the right direction, but I have been unable to locate information on this topic so far.

This has been discussed I know and a little more searching may confirm the following.

Aside from internal differences that I beleive are of no great concern and infact can be a bennifit. (bigger final drive.) I seem to recall the Crankcase is different. Just as 95-97's are rod shift vs 98-00 being a cable shift. Hope this helps.

No they are not interchangable. The bell housing has a different pattern and the bell housing is a part of the main case. The input shaft is different (shorter IIRC). Most of the rest of the internals are interchangable. The final drive has a taller ratio and can be installed on the V6 trans, which is common practice when doing 3.0 engine conversion.
