I have a 1995 Contour GL and my rear passenger wont open, and I think the childlock mechinism might be engaged or it is just stuck. I can't get the panel off with the door closed and I just don't know what I can do. There is no key lock on this door and I can't even lock the door so I'm not sure if it is locked or what someone please help me get the door open or the panel off.

call a locksmith unless you know how to slimjim...that would be my suggestion. the handle doesnt work from the inside or outside?

No it doesn't open from the inside or out, could a slimjim get it open?

That happened to mine, and I left it that way a long time because the Ford place told me it would cost over $200 and they couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be damage.
Then I got the idea to take it to a body shop, surely they're used to dealing with things like that. They opened the front door to expose the hinges of the rear door, and took it off that way. What they fixed inside I don't remember...

If I take off the door by the hinges will I be able to get it back on with no problem or what?

I couldn't tell you since I didn't do the work. Take it to a body shop if you're not that mechanically inclined.

Welcome onboard.
I'd try slimjim first, hinge removal probably last resort.
Not sure, but you might be able to use a bent coat hanger between door and frame to move the child lock lever.
Alternately, remove interior handle/bezel and see if you can use a bent coat hanger that way to unlatch.
