Unless you only you only want to power some speakers with your HU don't waste your money on these. I just blew up two more today, with only 30 watts, I've blown up the plates and the 3-ways. These were all professionally installed at a shop. I finally said screw it and ordered some DEI Studio Series 5.25 comps and a DEI Directed 250 amp, I'm gonna put my remaining two Pioneer plates in the rear doors and power them off the HU and power my comps with 75x2 off the DEI amp. What's everyone's opinion on DEI I'm expecting to get some of the best comps for under $300 and at least 75x2 of clean power from the amp. I got the these off Soundomain.com for 200 for comps and 250 for the amp, I also got a door dynomat kit for $1 and a Stinger amp kit for $1, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

well, im happy with my pioneer 6x8 2 ways. they're easy to install, and they sound descent. and as far as i know, distortion kills speakers, not too much power.. just my opinion.

I don't have any problems w/ my pioneer 2 way 6 x 8's. I mean their not hooked up to an amp and running right off the 40w per channel HU but I think the sound great and have some nice bass to them

Uh, that's my point they were being overpowered by 5 watts and there was no distortion, yea and if you power them off the HU they will work great or just don't try to get too loud. Just not a serious speaker in my opinion. 30 watts should have been about right for the plates. Using an Alpine amp not a rampage. I'm just saying instead of buying these try something else like Infinity or 5.25s, it's not like these sound super great and I feel they are unreliable
