Its a bulb. Search on for clock, and you will find previous posts with info.

dont know where you are located, but if in a cold climate heat up the plastic on the dash first with a hair dryer or the plastic will crack in cold weather.. then take a butter knife and pull out the whole clock... the small half circle part next to it will probably come out also... then disconnect the electric wires to the clock.. then look in the back for the bulb (its inside a small black plastic holder(looks like you use a very small screw driver to unscrew it... then go to ford dealer and spend $5.00 to get a new bulb.. screw it into the fitting and then plug the wire harness back on and push the clock and the other piece back in...

No, don't go to Ford and pay $5. Go to a junk yard, go inot a tour, rip out the clock get the bulb. Look at it to make sure its not burnt out. You could always steal one from the junkyard or you could just pay a $1 or so. Thats what I did, no problems.

That should help. I followed these same directions years ago, when mine went. The bulb I got from my local parts store, the soldering iron (a little one) I borrowed from my stepdad. Good luck and don't forget to save the green sleeve from the original bulb, you'll want to put it on the new bulb to keep the green tint to the illumination.
