last week my car was running fine, this week, it was acting rough, i talked to my mechanic, he said it was the spark plugs and wires, i replaced those and it ran better, but i noticed a lag of power between 15 and 20 mph, when im sitting in drive and at a red light, it dies to barely running and the rises to 1200 rpm, then back down, when i put my foot barely on the gas pedel, itll chug then be fine until i take my foot back off, i also just changed my fuel filter because my cel came on saying too lean, after i changed the filter, it went off. i almost forgot, when i start in the mornings, itll die, then run fine and if i slow down fast, it dies
thanks for any help you give me, sorry its so long

well, if it is that, how much would it cost, or how to repair it?...... what is thew standard voltage for iac to run, or what is standard for the motor at idle, mine runs at 17% at idle, i was told normal for a GM is 2 and i am aware that its a ford, not GM

It COULD be the IAC, but it could be a few other things. Umm, are you asking what percentage is the TP at at idle,, as mine too is at 17% but that is the TPS not the IAC. Anyways, I think the IAC is a $50 part and do it yourself so $50 to fix. I don't see why it would take a shop real long to change it,, so maybe an hour labor at a shop, so total $100 or so for a shop to do it.

Maybe a good time to check the PCV valve and related hoses.
