The clip that holds the wiring harness that plugs into the alternater is broken I believe, because over time the plug comes off the alternater and that means after driving for a few hours the car dies. It was pouring rain, and I had just gotten off work when it decided to take a $hit on me. I knew exactly what the problem was, so when my tach started flipping out from lack of signals from ECM, I pulled right off and saved a little juice. In my work clothes, I walked a few hundred feet to a house in this rural area, a nice guy let me borrow a jack, and I got all nice and muddy in khakis to slip the wiring harness plug back into the alternater.
Question is...
Is there some type of safe sticky grease or something that would hold this plug in? or putting a zip tie to where it won't come off, they're pretty heat safe I believe. I really don't have the time or money to buy a whole new adapter just because of a stupid little clip. Yes, I made sure it was on all the way, the clip IS broken.
Any other suggestions?
