I have lived in NM my whole life, traveled to every corner of the state, but I have never been to Los Alamos, and my grandparents live in Santa Fe. If you're ever going to come up to LA (let me know ) I highly recommend taking state road 4 through San Yisidro and Jemez Springs. It's one of the most beautiful drives I've ever driven.
