A while ago before tom left he mentioned to me that he was gonna send me his old head gaskets so I could trace onto my gaskets where cut out for the new water passages ( I don't think that is gonna happen ), can anyone explain to me what/how I should go about doing this? and for people who don't know here is my setup.

1998 3L taurus block
with 2.5L SVT heads with 3L valves
with 3L head gaskets

I am just kinda worried I may damage somethig if I do it wrong. Thanks a lot guys.

P.S. If someone is willing to cut them out for me I will ship you the 3L head gaskets and a little cash.

Why do you need to cut them?

I just put my 3.0L head gaskets on with no tweaking...

Because I believe the 98 block is different.

The best way to see if you have to cut any holes is to match the gasket up against the block mating surface. Then see if any line up with passages of the 2.5L heads. (besides the obvious 3 that get plugged of course)

As for cutting the Multi-Layered Steel shim head gasket... Good luck.
I would think you'd need some kind of punch hole cutter and a block of wood underneath it.

Did this engine ever get put together? IIRC this was going to be the biggest thing out there when I was leaving.

I don't think he posts here anymore. Considering this thread was started almost a year ago.
