On either the Duratec or a Vetec, if a timing belt skips a tooth or lets go, will the pistons hit the valves? Someone asked me that question and I just didn't know the correct answer.

duratec=timing CHAIN

I4 contour engine = ZETEC
variable [valve] timing [and lift] electronic control = Vtec

Hello and WELCOME to last post.

There is no such thing as a Vetec.

The I-4 Zetec used on the CDW-27 platform (and others btw) uses a timing belt and is a non-interference engine.

I have a Vetec in my possession. They make somewhat decent phones....
