I have a heavy drain on the battery from my system, and a one fared capacitor and the lights still dim. The battery needs replacing and I was thinking of a yellow top optima because they are the best for car audio/starter battery. I have read older posts about getting Optima's to fit in the engine bay without denting the hood, but couldn't find a clear answer. I just want some opinions on the best battery for a heavy draining system that will fit under the hood of the car. Thank you in advance.

Get the Yellow Top. Install it following the how-to I wrote. Or relocate it to the trunk using the other how-to I wrote.

Upgrade your car's ground and power wire from the alternator. This should relieve alot more dimming than a optima can. Remember a optima just slows the drain down from a regular battery. But does not eliminate it.

The alternator re-energizes the battery, so you need to get some more juice to the battery from the alternator....I recommend a 4 gauge ground and power cable. This is an upgrade from the factory 8 gauge.
