My Duratec-powered Contour is making an odd ticking noise when the engine is either revving slightly (up to 1500 RPMs) or when I put it into gear and let up on the clutch. It makes an even tic-tic-tic sound; I know for sure it isn't a wrist pin or rod bearing --I know those two-- or even a lifter/tappet. It's just a light tick at low revs, and it vanishes at either idle or higher RPMs. Can you give me your $.02 on this?

B4 U do anything expensive, chek that ur plug boots are tight and wires not arcing against anything. Open hood in dark garage -U may see blue flashes! The arc makes a snap a lot like a light tick. Good luck!

Make sure the plugs are tight too (I've been there).
