I have a reoccuring CEL and when i read the code it comes up as Bank #1 lean condition. It has come on twice so far the first time i reset it and it came back on 1 week later. both times i was cruising down the highway at 70.

Any ideas as to cause/solution.
I did recently switch from KKM open element intake to the SVT airbox with drop-in K&N. but i reset the computer after install. Would plugs help? mine have 80k miles on them.

any help would be apprecitated
thanks

Hey I had the same problem.....the bank 1 02 sensor is on it's way out , the code should tell you if it's sensor 1 or 2, but if your car has 80K or more on it it's a good idea to replace the 02 sensors anyway. Are the plugs original fords?, and the air box shouldn't have anything to do with it as the computer would adjust according to the air flow.

Yeah, the car has 140k miles on it and i have done 2 oxy sensors over the past couple of years. Those times i just got a bad o2 sensor code and it told me which bank and which sensor.
This time it is just the lean bank 1 code. So you are saying it is just a precursor to an 02 sensor going bad? I guess i will just run it until it tells me which one to replace.

thanks

No the plugs are bosch plat +4's which have been in for 80k miles.

Perhaps you should clean your MAF? A speck of crap on the wire filaments may be causing the MAF to feed incorrect data to the cpu, causing the condition that has triggered your CEL?
