Yes, but it depends on mileage and obviously what they were driven on etc.

like rtstabler said it simply depends on factors that cannot be accurately determined without first being able to see and inspect the springs. was the car that wore them abused or was it drivin by somebodies grandma?

I wouldn't think Eibachs would give you any trouble. They are of high quality. Not all springs are created equal, though.

what about H&Rs? I've heard and read many times that they're just as good as the Eibachs? The reason I ask is cause I've had H&Rs on my car for a long while now(like 90K now)and they've been driven kinda hard over the years. They fell just as good today as the day I bought them. I wanted to put some Konis on them, you think they'll be OK or should I save up and go with the GC/Koni setup?

My understanding of springs has always been that the spring rate stays contstant throughout the life of the spring, but all that "wear" really affects is the spring height. So the springs don't really wear out, per se. They will just ride lower...

Well on Contour the springs are a piece of [censored]. They make break for no reason at all.

The way I heard it is that the bad ones are the LX and GL springs. SE ones seemed to be ok.
