I am considering a Mazda6 Wagon for my wife's new car. Does anybody know the source of the tranny paired with the 3L Duratec in the 6s? My SVT tranny is in need of a rebuild so I am a bit apprehensive of buying another vehicle with the MTX75. I can't find much info on the type/source of the tranny in the Mazda. Anybody got any info? Dealer says its Japanese, but the notchy-ness seems very familiar...

thanks in advance,

The Mazda6s Manual is A65M-R

It is a JATCO tramsmission that shares a great deal in common with the MTX75. How much in common, I'm not 100% sure, but it is a very similar design.

Throw some Redline Synthetic in it and the notchiness goes away.
