HELP,
I previously had a P1131 code and now have a P0113 without changing anything. This appeared the same time the alternator light came on and stayed on. There is no appreciable rise in voltage when checking at the battery with the engine off and on. I'm assuming that I need a new alternator (car only has 55,000 miles). What does that code mean and can these 2 things be related? Any unwritten tricks to replacing the alt. Looks a bit tricky.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

You need to post more info about your car when trying to get help. Anyways, just sounds like an o2 sensor needs replacing. But not sure what's going on with your alternator, could just be a bad ground or something.

P0113 Intake Air Temperature circuit High Input.

Unhook or damage the IAT ?

Check the Mega-fuse before trying to replace the Alt.

You were right. The IAT was disconnected at the air filter intake hose, Duh!
Still can't find the mega fuse although it's my understanding if it's blown nothing works. True? Is it separate from the main box by the battery? The car (99 SE Sport 5sp etc) still runs and everything works but alt light stays on. I have an appointment to have it checked but finding a blown fuse would be great although they blow for a reason I guess.

The mega-fuse should be low on the firewall behind the engine on the large wire from the alternator. If it is blown the alternator current cannot reach the battery but the battery will still supply the rest of the car.

Finally found the mega fuse (I think). Does the little black case open from top or bottom? I have a replacement fuse so at least know what it looks like. Does it just slide in or am I asking for too much. Who designs this stuff?

Yeah it is a pain to do. Remove the coil pack and be prepared to scrape knucles.
