I would first try the drain and fill method first with cheapo ATX fluid. It could also be the TCS sensor ($30). There is no garantee that the tranny you pull will be in any better shape.

Get a used blower motor from the junk yard. The clunk could be the sub-frame bushings, the endlinks, struts, ball joints, or the CV joint. Hard to tell without being there.
I agree, it would be cheap to try some new tranny fluid. If it makes it run better, put some good fluid in and a better tranny cooler and go

I dont have a tranny cooler I dont think....only thing its hooked up to is the radiator I also put some transeal in the tranny cause i thought it had a leak but doesn't that stuff I'm skeptical about it smelt like fuel injector cleaner....I'm hoping to god this is going to be a easy fix I can currently go from school to work and work to home without 1 problem which makes me feel so good cause it hopefully wont be internal its only when the car is driving for more than 15 mins it will jolt/downshift/upshift/jump out of gear and back in.... somthing that tells it what gear to go into is most likly shot i hope.... If not I can drive from school to work and to home and just no joyriding anymore....
