The rotors can still warp. Admittedly they are big and heavy, but they can still warp.

So what do you think my problem may be??? Like I said, the car is fine until stopping...then it makes that pulsing like motion (not on the pedal...but you can feel it on the floor). I wouldn't say my car wobbles (maybe that was the wrong description).

My guess is either the control arm bushings onr the tie rod ends (I had a thunk for a while, it was the tire rod ends.

Could a bad sway bar/sway bar bushing cause a similar problem?

'98 tours came with two types of control arm: horizontal bolt or vertical bolt. The obvious sign of wear is when you notice that the lower edge of the c/a almost contact the upper edge of the front chassis. There should be a gap between those parts. Check the other side and compare. In other words there should be an almost horizontal line perpendcular to the chassis, between the c/a and chassis.
Thats the visual way. The other is to use a pry bar between bushing and chassis and look for play. Again, compare this to the other side.

Problem solved.....well most of my problem. After my accident a while back (going over a curb) my passenger side tie rode came loose (the bolt that holds it to the strut tower was not tightened). Apparantly either the shop forgot to tighten it or it somehow came loose from the accident. None the less, I fixed the problem. I still may have my rotors turned though.

i had the shaking when coming to stop from 65 to 55 mph. thought it might have been a bad rotor or bent rim turned out it was the lower control arm. exspensive fix. good luck

I have this problem. It happened after I installed new brake pads. Maybe it's from the calipers being tightened too much? I don't have a torque wrench so I don't know. What do you guys think? The rotor I have was changed in october of last year so it's a really new "better" brand of the 2 they had at autozone. The pads are the semi metallic brand they sell.. which are actually pretty good!
