Anyone here have a stock replacement K and N for their SVT? Did you notice a big difference in fuel mileage?

I am asking because a friend put a drop-in K and N in his Mazda 626 and has consistently been getting 5 mpg more than when using a paper filter.

I don't have an SVT, but I have gotten the same gas mileage with it as opposed to stock..

I went from a KKM to a drop-in K&N, and I my mileage is about the same (22-24 MPG combined). I've never used the paper filter.

I've changed the Exhaust & Filter and I'm using Shell Optimax (Higher RON) so It's not really a controlled experiment but i got an extra 50-75 miles out of my last half tank.

Depends on how you drive I guess, put your foot down & use the extra power & you'll not get any better millage, drive
gently & the better breathing may give you better mpg (?)

I'll let you know when my Fram AirHog comes in...

Right now I get 26 - 28 miles per gallon; never checked it when I had my K&N filter installed, before I tossed it in the dumpster.

When I put te K&N in my svt I noticed a huge difference in the milage from the paper filter. The paper filter was dirty though. My wifes taurus got better milage when I dropped a K&N in it. Nothing too much to brag about, but 20+ extra miles out of a tank of gas works for me.

When I put the KKM in over the stock box I got about 40 mile more out of my tank on the 99 SE. But my 95 gets about 25-30 mpg with a RU3530 that damn near hits the ground

I am planning on getting one of these bad boys. Did you have any trouble fitting it in the tight space? Did yours come with a heat shield? Any specifics on it would be greatly appreciated by a noob! Thanks!
