I took the end caps off of my Supertrapps for racing and there is a thick black residue on the inside of the caps. does this mean I'm running rich??? and if so what do I do about it???

A little is normal. A lot is a sign of running rich.

A thin, even coating is normal. A thick layer is bad, you would probably smell it too while the car is running if it was running too rich. Unless there is something badly wrong with your car, I wouldnt worry about it.
