Ever since I have had my y-pipe installed there is a loud ticking noise that comes from it immediatly after the car is driven. The sound is similar to that of a screw driver being tapped against it.

I am pretty sure it is coming from the cat and I believe awhile ago I read a post where sombody said this is normal, that the cat is filtering out emissions, but I cant seem to find that post. The stock exhaust never did this, and while this is not really a major problem its just kind of annoying when parking the car and as I walk away I here a loud ding...ding.... ding......

Anybody else have similar problems or remedys??

It's just cooling down. When it gets hot (especially after a good bit of hard driving ) the metal expands. When you stop the engine there are no hot gases passing through it therefore it starts cooling down and the metal starts to contract making pinging/ticking noises as it does. Perfectly normal.
