For those that have put 6x9's in the doors, specifically the backs, how thick were the spacers you used? I've got 1/2 inch thick wood that I'm going to use and I just wanted to know if this is too thick. I will be doing this today so any quick input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Depends on how deep your 6x9's are? With a 1/2 inch wood you should be okay. Your only concern, other than the depth, will be the metal bracket that the handle mounts through. It sits directly on the edge of the speakers and if they get much taller at all the bracket won't fit right. Two ways to fix this, cut a notch in the wood or cut a piece out of the bracket. What is the depth on your 6x9's anyway??

A 1/2" spacer should be fine. I used the spacer that came with my Infinity Kappa 6x9 and it's about 3/8" thick. And yes, the metal door pull bracket in the back will have to be notched to clear the speaker. Before you do anything though, check the depth of your 6x9s. You have about 2-3/4" between the door frame and the window.

Hey. I'm not a newbie anymore! YAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
Ok, back to business. The mounting dpth on these JBL's is 2-15/16", which means I should have enough clearance. Now all I have to do is figure out how to cut the spacer to make it fit the speakers.
Thanks for the info!
