Anyone here have a contour or any other car that can run on natural gas. My 96 tour does but i've never tried it. With gas prices hiting $1.95 for regular i figured i might look into it. I'm not sure if i'd be cheaper or how my car would run on it. Any insight would be useful.

Don't bother with natural gas. Natural gas is more inefficient than pump gas. Our country has a worse natural gas shortage than we do with pump gas. Thus, you will pay even more to get even less.
Drive your current car efficiently. Keep it in good tune. Do only driving that you "need" to do, not "want" to do. Meanwhile, save what you can for a more efficient car. That is the best you can do.

I'm almost 95% sure that there's no tax on natural gas though.... I know if there wasn't any on regular gas it'd be like 1.20ish a gallon

Yes, over the past few weeks I can only drive where I "need" to go, otherwise I use to much on gas. I figure saving money, helping enviorment, not giving oil companies extra $$$.

Try to see somethin that will pump gas from a house natural gas line, hook it up to a neighbor's gas line (if there gas thing is outside) then pump it to the Contour

In Oak Park, here in Illinois, there is a natural gas pump, though I am not sure if it is open to the public. It would be nice to have when on a long road trip. Plus it runs a lot cleaner. Though the 10 gal tank or how ever big the tank is for the natural gas only lasts 100 miles, would be good for around town or when on a long road trip.

It is a natural by-product by making gasoline. So in a since you are still supporting oil companies

See, now if we didnt run off CitationX, or whatever his name was, his dad might have been able to make us the plasma infusion kit for the Contours!
