Yesterday I looked in my fuse box under the hood and noticed that i am missing relay R1. Does anyone know what function this relay serves and where i can get one.

There's a diagram of what the relays are on the underside of the lid. IIRC it's the relay for DRLs, which you don't have unless it's a Canadian car. You can always check the owners manual. If you don't have one they're online. Google "ford" "fleet" and "contour" and you'll find it.
