I would like to put some hinges on my back seat so that I could put it down when necessary. I thought all 2000 SE's came with the ability to put the seat down via two handles in the trunk which mine has the two holders welded on but there are no handles to pull!? Weird I thought, but anyway thoughts on that or how to put hinges on the back seat would be greatly appreciated. You know, I really like my Contour but I dont think Id like it as much without this place.

Macmadd,
My tour also has the non-foldable rear seats. Also, there is no way to convert them unless your get a who;e rear seat from the dealer or a junkyard. If you look at the rear seat from inside the trunk, you will see the black board. This is not part of the seat. Pull this out and you will see a steel bar that runs down the middle of a sheet of foam. That sheet of foam is the back seat. The only support structures in the seat are that steel bar, and the wires that give the seat it's shape. Essentially, the seatback is like a hammock, and nothing will bolt to it. Sorry, no folding seats suck, but at least they are more soft and comfy!
