The part number for the new connector is in the main sticky post.

Known change.

There is no gear ratio changes on any year MTX-75 from 95 to XX.

Only 2 final drives as well.
Zetec's have 3.84 FD
Duratec's have 4.06 FD

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

What connector?
input shaft...?
I looked over the trans really good ,looks the same,
all but the top shifter area ,mine had a cast top
and the newer one has a open area with a plastic cover
the parts house left the mounts on it, there not the same.
It was missing the shock mount on the front...and it had the weak trans mount still in it...
im still waiting on the engine holder to come ups
so i can't get it all the way out yet
now that i have a good diff to look at, i know mine is toast...was going to put a raceing one in but i think its time to get a updated trans anyway...plus no core so i will get one later after i rebuild the i will have.

i got the older code for the trans hopeing there would be less change to it....BA was the older trans...first change (i think)....

no engine holder needed bud i did a 2000 cougar trans swap in my 98 about six months ago. What we did to get the trans and subframe out was put the car on jack stand four of them of course as high as they could go and then we used two jacks to a) remove the trans and b) suport the motor after the trans was out. the motor and trans will hang there freely without any support from a jack while the subframe is removed your probally wondering how. if you look at the way the motor and trans are mounted you will take notice that you have two motor mounts one on the driver side and one on the passenger side these will supprt everything while you manage to get the subframe out of the way. once the subframe is out then support the motor with one jack using a block of wood so not to mess the oil pan up and use the other jack to manuver the trans out.

from the year trans that you picked up it is good that the guy gave you the connectors for the shifters as they are different they changed them in 2001. and as demon said you will need a wire connector from the dealer, it is a jump connector for the reverse back up lights as they are also different throughout the years. Oh yea and one more thing the little shock absorber trans mount you mentioned does not come factory equiped on cougars nor on non svt's, I so want one in the worst way as i am sure it would help out a lot with my crazy wheel hop problems. Bad wheel hop equals very high chance of diferential grenading into a million peices like mine did.
