Well i just had to get a little something off of my chest. Today this person starting talking **** about how you can hear my music when i drive places, which obviously means i have a decent system. ALthough the fact of the matter is that i keep it turned down at least to half or less wherever i am and i think the whole purpose of buying a system is to listen to it loud right. Well i just got rather annoyed with the feable minded people out there and would hope they could get a little smarter about how things work.

Just tell people what I say, "I have such good taste in music that I think everyone should hear it."

So I am driving up a main road today here in Erie Pa, and I am stopped at a light blaring my rap music cause whats the point of the system if your not gonna flaunt it. So I am stopped at a light this guy motions for me to turn down my music. I do, he starts F this F that, turn your **** down, my kids dont need to hear this sh*t. I was like buddy I will turn it down, but what kinda example you setting with that mouth of yours, he did not like that and proceeded to flip me off...people these days.

Not necessarily, but it means that you have a loud system, or possibly a non sound deadened system, or possibly a decent system. ALthough the fact of the matter is that i keep it turned down at least to half or less wherever i am and i think the whole purpose of buying a system is to listen to it loud right. I'm glad to hear that you try to keep it turned down whenever possible, but turned halfway down still could be more than enough to annoy people. The purpose for putting my system was to enjoy the music. I too am guilty of listening at levels that are way to loud, but normally only while driving on the expressway. In town, I avoid having it loud enough to hear on the outside of the car, because I would rather not advertise to everyone that I have a system worth stealing. Well i just got rather annoyed with the feable minded people out there and would hope they could get a little smarter about how things work. I don't understand this? what do you mean? Do you listen to your music loud at night, say after 10 PM or so?

First of all, the reason should be for your own enjoyment, not everyone else displeasure. The guy taht you are talking about was obviously obnoxious but what about the other cars around you who were thinking the same thing as the guy, but scared to say something. I listen to rap, rock, blues, well actually just about everything and I'm always conscious of the people around me, because chances are, they don't like the same thing i do. It's really just common courtesy.

Although I do listen to my system at high volume on occasion (not anywhere it would attract attention, tho), I put it together for SQ.
Having lots of power and good equipment will make the music sound great at high and low volume levels.
I'd agree with Dave that blasting a stereo all of the time just advertises that you've got something worth stealing. I've seen it happen quite a bit. They ususally learn their lesson after their stuff gets stolen for the second or third time.

Advertising a system...I think that is interesting point, because if you have subs in your car even at low levels there going to be heard, people will know you have a system in there, I spend a great deal of $ on my car to sound the way it does so I enjoy it, Generally i give the people the courtesy(turning it down at lights, when driiving in town reasonable volume, and at night past 10) I have taken much security precaution as one can alarm, bolted down the amp rack, but the fact of the matter is if someone wants your stuff there gonna get it regardless of the alarm. Just my .02 cents.

If you do as you say, I would have no problems with the way you listen to your stereo. You are obviously a responsible basshead. I do agree that it they want your sh!t, they'll get it, but why increase the chances by flaunting? I had way to many thousands of dollars into my system to beg people to steal it. And if played at a reasonable volume, people won't hear that you have subs. Happy listening! Dave

I was recently pulled over by the police because of my "loud" music. he claimed I could get a $100 ticket for it, but he let me off with a warning. now i don't know if thats true, but just a warning to other music lovers, you may want to turn it down when you see the cops!

Most states have a noise ordinance, PA is no exception. The rules are local though. In PA if the cop decides to bust you the fine is $250 that is what a friend of mine got. Yeah so it does happens, i alway dim the music when i see the police.
