Hey I just got my black 98 CSVT. I was wondering what places there are in Northern Virginia. I tried searchin on this site but wasnt very successful. Also wuts the legal tint and wut is the pricing like? Any help would be nice. Thanks...i think that the tint on a black CSVT will look pretty sweet.

Hey.. I had my car tinted in Virginia, but it was in the Richmond/VA BEACH area...

LEGAL LIMITS and what you get are to totally seperate issues, you understand.. (Keeping in mind that VA IS VERY STRICT on their tint laws..

LEGALLY: 50% in the front, and 35% in the back is all they will do..

However, darker can be had if you ask.. (no receipt, no ties to them...)

I have a black E1, and 20%(ends up being 17% with the factory tinting) all around... "just" dark enough for me, but I prefer 15%, and 5% on the back..

I went to California Tint in Tysons a little over 5 years ago - I had to get the fronts redone to 50% from 35% b/c of the tinting laws - they denied me inspection in VA. Then, when I moved into DC, I got denied inspection again. I stripped the tint off and never looked back. I miss it, though...

I would suggest 50% all the way around - I think fronts different than the rears look funny. Unless you think you might live in the district - then skip it altogether.

Oh, and California Tint did an excellent job redoing the fronts then stripping the rear window - I did the side windows to save $$$.

I have 32% all the way around. Mine was installed at Ziebart in Fairfax. They did a great job. I haven't had any problems with the law for two reasons. One, since I have a tan interior, the tint looks light enough for them not to mess with me. Second, I had laser eye surgery about the time I had the tint job done and I had my doctor sign a medical waiver for me. I keep it in the car in case the coppers decide to pull me over for it.

I too, would suggest a matching level... unequal =

However (and this only works for the fronts), you can pass inspection with below the limit tint in the fronts.... Just roll your windows down all the way, and then remove the fuse that operates PWR WINDOWS...
you see, it's not illegal to have your window motors broken, or such..

Its just illegal to have them too dark.. So, unless they want to cut your door away, and THEN measure with that light meter, you're fine..

I have 50 in front sides, 20 in back.. back is TOO DARK. It looks sweet, but I can't see worth a damn at night. If I want to back up I have to stick my head out the window. Just get the legal limit, 50/35. Sorry I bought my car with its tint, can't tell you where it was done.

I got mine done at LA Tint in Sterling, don't remember the price. I got the legal limit but like John said already, if you have a black car with a tan interior you can probably get away with 35% all around.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
