OK, I am starting to get a little PO'd. When I was putting on my summer tires a weekend or two ago, I notice that the paint is starting to lift on the fender lips in the rear. Then I notice a couple of miniscule specks of rust starting on the exposed INSIDE portion of the B pillar. This goes with the door bottoms and the trunklid.

What is the deal with this? And what's the best way to repair it (aside from letting it become someone else's problem)?

I REALLY hate rust It's almost to the point where I would consider just getting something else and cutting my losses before she really starts to rot.....

... but then I hit that gas pedal and hear that engine..

Its seen many winters and it was a little better then that when i bought the car, i barely paid anything for the car cause i knew it was going to cost a bit ot fix, but you will be happy to know that the car isnt in my posetion right now! Its off to get all that crap fixed, i should have it back sunday and it will look 100% better. The guy who is working on it is a great friend of the family so its not cost too much. Considering all the metal patching that needs to be done.

I've got the edge of the rear wheel wells and one corner of the trunk lid started.....

Mine started rusting in the rear wheel well a few years back. I noticed little by little it was getting bigger. Now that somebody hit my car at that quarterpanel and door, the rust spot actually made things worse for me. It has completely cracked through at the wheel well of the quarterpanel, and the door doesnt close right. This is going to be some major work when I get it fixed.

While my car is sitting, I am getting at all the nooks and crannies and cleaning them.
If you scroll back up to the last two pictures, I have a good guess why there.....If you remove the wheelwell plastic lining you will find a lip or a channel. If you don't (when you wash your car) spray full blast above and around the wheelwell, the dirt stays. Rememeber that for all your cars, hose your wheelwells thoroughly!

Anyways, I took some pictures of what I found, so far, BEHIND my plastic liner and you will never believe it. Till then, keep those hard to reach places clean!
