is there something on the market that i can put on my bumpers (something inconspicuous, preferably--or i probably wouldn't want it) to avoid people dinging up my bumpers, or scratching my paint?
im about to move to a new house in baltimore city, and i just realized what that could mean for my bumpers!
thanks

The only thing you can put on your car is full coverage insurance . Or.... keep 10 sets of that "Ding King" in your garage and a whole slew of touch up paint. A world with out dings.... we can only dream.

Speaking of DingKing - IT DOESN'T WORK [at least for my car]! Save your money and remember, all these 'amazing' TV products that seem too good to be true are just that! Another example would be AirFlowMaster thing - it does up your HPs and sort of improves milage BUT it makes your engine so much louder [very noticable]. I'd stay away from these new age wonders...

living in a city and trying to prevent dings? rent a garage spot. then all you have to worry about is the guy next to you opening his door into yours. at least you bumpers are protected!

IMO, you wont be able to put anything on the bumpers that will not be very noticable.

I was trolling around on an RX8 board once, and one guy who lived in NYC had the same concern, so he posted about this stuff by 3M, its like a thick plastic adhesive cover type deal. You can get it applied to whatever sections of your car you want, its clear, and probably not too obvious. I'll try to find a link. I believe he had it done at an authorized shop.
EDIT: Here it is.

Go to a junkyard and get some old beat up bumpers. Stick them on your car and you no longer have to worry.
