After my atx and engine rebuild, I find that my low coolant indicator is still on! I replaced the sensor on crossover tube, I replaced sensor underneath recovery tank. All electrical plugs were cleaned. Is there anything inside the tank that could go wrong. How does the coolant recovery tank sensor work?

Thanks,
Bob

I am sure you are aware of this, but just saying it to be safe, don't hate me! Be sure that you are slightly above the max line with your fill. Course that usually comes on for a minute or two, then goes off, if your underfilled and yours is prob on all the time, but I am just suggesting. Other than that, I haven't worked with the coolant system much, so can't help you out there.

The part of the sensor in the tank that floats may not be floating. I had this happen to several tanks, all confirmed by turning the empty tank upside down and watching the light turn off. I got tired of paying for a new tank when this would happen so I unplugged the sensor and put a jumper/bypass wire in the plug. No more problem, although I do have to visually check the fluid level.

Thanks for the info! What would cause the float to stick? I don't recall seeing it in my tank when I took it off the care and flushed it out....maybe it floated away!
