Im not sure what to look for when I go to Home depot or Lowes to get the soundproof material I hear talked about on here. Is it a roofing membrane? I am ready to do my whole car but I need to know what Im looking for.

Yes it is roofing membrane. I posted all the info under a different thread here in this Car Audio Forum. Search for the word "Resisto" and you'll find it.

I unerstand the confusion as well. I went to a couple local Home Depot's and Lowes to find no 'Resisto'. I picked up a roll of the only roofing product that is adhesive backed and will probably install some tomorrow...

Just checked the box. NEI company, Ice & Storm seal. 100 sq ft for $25.

Part of the confusion comes from the fact that Resisto seems to be mostly available in Canada. Any non-lumpy, smooth, no smell roofing membrane will do. Aluminum backing is a personal choice, it only adds to price IMHO.
