If you're prone to taking left-hand sweepers at high RPM's and aren't a fan of running a little extra oil in the engine (or slapping on a DMD for crank harmonic issues), not terribly long at all it seems.
Water pumps seem to fail around 50-70K, though mine looked perfect when I replaced it (at 59K). If you don't catch the temps rising on your engine, it will cook itself prematurely given this failure.
If you are aware of these issues and perform routine maintenance on the car, it should last you quite a long time. I seem to recall more than just a few people on this board that have their 2.5L Duratecs up in the 200K mile range.
I've got 76K miles on my 2.5L and it's running strong and sees redline more than a couple times a week.
If you are looking for a mathematical average, I can't help you as I don't think anyone has been keeping track of mileage on the Duratecs on this board.

Mine went at about 50k. I attribute to a hard first half of it's life. At that point I had her for about 1000miles. Now my tranny is gone, due to the differential. It was a FLEET car though.

The Duratec should last a VERY long time. It's a tough engine. If you're aware of the oiling issues and don't abuse your car, you should be able to keep it for well over 200k miles.
Still, this seems to be a high maintenance car if you want to keep it for any length of time. Brake rotors, dash warp, TB cleanings, & misc other stuff will drive me nutz before the engine is ready to give out. Wiring (in older models) & tranny issues will likely come up while the engine is still running well also.
I love the car & plan to keep it for a long time, but I won't buy another. I'll pick up a bigger, better version of it, & remember it fondly every time I drive along twisty roads.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

My SVT is still running strong on the factory waterpump with just over 77K.
I haven't had a single mechanical problem and the exterior looks brand new.

I have a 98 CSVT with 50,000 on it. I bought it nearly 2 years ago from CarMax with about 40,000 on it. Within the first 2 weeks the water pump blew apart and was replaced. The water pump just started leaking so I am currently getting it replaced again. The 3rd gear synchro is worn causing grinding and that is also be addressed now. Other than that the thing runs beautifully! Thank goodness I bought the CarMax warranty though.

My '00 SVT has 106,000 and I have had to replace the fuel pump, one set of plugs, and adjust the shifter linkage twice. I have used Mobil One since new. So far so good. (knocking on wood).

there's a guy on the forums (parkedcar ? IIRC) who has more than 250k on his duratec, without major problems.
