I have 98.5 SVT Contour that has an engine revving problem. This does not happen all of the time, but when I apply the clutch, the rpms jump up to almost 4000 and stay there 5-7 seconds before they go down to idle. has anyone else had this happen to their car? If so, what should I do. The dealership has had the car for about 3 weeks trying to recreate the problem, but they have not been able to. any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. i wouldn't reconmnd the Stealership unless you know someone there for a while. they tend to to more harm than good.

Find a good independant with a good reputation who ahs touched a contour before.
