Check out Crutchfield for speakers. By selecting your car, it will show you what speakers are a direct replacement. Also, when you order from Crutchfield, they send you detailed installation instructions (with pics) specific to your car, with no need to buy anything else (all wire harnesses for headunits are included).

You'll have to remove the door panel. There are screws around the perimeter, behind the door handle (a little round clip) and in the elbow rest (pop out that plastic insert)
There's a plastic inner cover, but I don't think you have to remove it. The speakers themselves are held in right there. Just unscrew and there you go. There's a plug in the back/side holding them on you'll need to carefully undo.
Size, I'm not 100% sure on that.

Ditto on Crutchfield.com or Sounddomain.com. They should supply directions, if not you can jsut search online for instructions. The size of the speakers are 6 x 8.

Actually it is 5x7 but I'm sure 6x8 would fit.

6 x 8 is a size used by ford, nissan and mazda. that is the same size speaker that is in there right now, and the size iput in my car, and they fit perfectly. You can also get an adapter so you can put a 6" inch round speaker in there instead.

The Pioneer 6x8's I bought were a direct drop-in. No drilling or cutting whatsoever.

My Infiniti 6 x 9's fit in with just drilling new mounting holes in the metal, then using slightly longer than stock, self taping screws. Easy install and well worth the time and effort, considering the speakers were a freebie, and they sound so much better than stock. Pretty sure I am gonna put them in back and get something in circle diameter for a better sound though.

I put 5x7's in wife's 95 mystique and they were not quite right but a pair of 6x8's fit perfectly. Also has ford used both 5x7's and 6x8's.
