First of all, sorry for the long post...
I was on my way to work this morning traveling down a road with two lanes when all of a sudden the minivan in front of me swerves into the left lane. Once they moved, I noticed why they swerved. A flat-bed semi-truck had about ten feet of the back of his truck sticking out into the road from a driveway. Once I saw this, I too swerved to miss it. I manage to miss the truck, but as I swerved into the left lane I hit the curb pretty hard on the side of the road.
Then the fun part... I get out of my car to go talk to the truck driver and he completely dismisses me and claims that if I saw the truck I should have slowed down. After calmly arguing with him for a minute or two, I tell him to pull over to get his info. He pretends to do so, then when I go up to the door to talk to him, he takes off!
I was pretty pissed and went and found the site manager for the construction site the truck-driver was coming out of. Hopefully his a** will get fired.
The end result wasn't as bad as I first feared. My front rim has some nasty curb rash and the tire has some rubber scraped off. Alignment is probably off too. Overall, I would have to say that I am impressed with the strength of the Centerline wheels. For being so light, they certainly appear to have significant strength. I took a bunch of pictures too, so we'll see what happens. I definitely don't want to be out $500 worth of a new rim, tire and alignment.
